The probe’s body is made of Delrin, a strong and highly chemical-resistant thermoplastic. A Teflon junction connects the pH probe to the outside world. The Teflon junction makes this probe ideal for wine production because tartrate crystals can not form on Teflon. The Teflon junction also makes this probe well-suited for highly corrosive environments. Unlike traditional pH probes that have a glass bulb at its tip, this probe has a flat sensing area. That means that you never have to worry about the glass breaking off into your liquid; And we didn’t even mention the 3/4″ NPT threaded body or internal temperature sensor!
